Salmon farming in Stoksund

Visitors must be physically able to take a trip in an open boat. To enter a floating seacage, we can make an appointment in advance. Childeren must be accompanied by adults. Passengers (children) sitting on their saddle-seats must be able to reach the floor. If not, an adult passenger need to assist by sitting on the seat behind. We recommend warm clothes and gloves. We provide survival suits for the passangers and other safety equipment needed.

Our trained guides offers a presentation inside the Visitor centre, based on videos and a guiding in english.
In the Visitor centre you can learn about life in the net pens, how the salmon farms are operated, and view the salmon via video camera. Video surveillance of the fish is important to continuously ensure the wellfare of the salmon.
The visitor centre provides the necessary safety equipment to transport visitors by boat to the net pens located close the open ocean, where the ocean currents brings clean seawater to the salmon.
